Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream,
derived from the Latin word “gelātus” (meaning frozen).
In America this word commonly refers to ice cream varieties made in a traditional Italian style. What makes Rimini Gelato perfect for those weary Beaver Creek and Vail skiers looking for a treat? First it has less fat than ice cream because it’s made with a milk base versus heavy cream and eggs.
Ice cream is whipped with air, the ice cream world version of MSG. This air makes it easier for people to eat larger amounts ice cream. Plus, because of the large amount of fat solubles in ice cream, these fat solubles coat the tongue preventing the eater from getting the true flavor.
